High School Diploma for 16-22 Year Olds

Students ages 16-22, and those with special needs up to age 25, can earn a high school diploma at one of the three Covenant House Academy. Our tuition-free school gets students on track and prepares them for life beyond high school.

Our schools provide a Quality Education.

We know how important quality education is and we have chosen the best model for our student population. Education 2020 is a leader in computer-based K-12 education service for alternative schools. The online curriculum is aligned with the Michigan Department of Education’s requirements and guidelines for obtaining a high school diploma. Classes include social arts, math, electives, social studies and language arts. Each lesson includes video instruction from a highly qualified teacher as well as traditional classroom instruction. Teachers, paraprofessionals and intervention specialists teach and guide students through challenging material. Students receive a quality education with this cutting edge technology that will also enable them to move through the courses quickly.

Credit Recovery Available

Earn as many credits as you need! Each student picks up where they left off in high school and works towards their high school diploma. Many students regain their credits and return to their high school and graduate with their class.

Year Round Class Schedules and Enrollment

Classes are offered year-round. Students can choose to attend morning or afternoon sessions to make room for work or family obligations. Those eager to graduate sooner can attend both sessions.

School Hours


School begins at 9:00 a.m and ends at 2:40 p.m. There is breakfast and tutoring available from 7:30 a.m. - 8:55 a.m. After school tutoring is offered from 2:45 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Grand Rapids

Two sessions:  7:30AM - 11:30 AM Session; 11:30 AM to 3:30 PM Session

Homework and Practice Available 24/7

Students can access their practice lessons and homework materials online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week – and get credit!

Vocational Assistance

Students learn job readiness and retention skills and receive job placement assistance while earning their diploma. Students are taught the fundamentals of utilizing the computer and Internet to obtain employment. Students create professional email accounts, learn how to search for a job, send emails and applications electronically, create resumes, highlight references, write cover letters and thank you letters, attend mock interviews and apply for work permits. Prepare for College & for Life

Covenant House Academy are dedicated to preparing students to succeed by teaching essential academic and life skills. Our staff assists each student with pursuing college or vocational training. Our staff help students apply for financial aid and scholarships. Through our partnership with Wayne County Community College, students are able to take advantage of dual enrollment
